These gorgeous fabric creations are so much more than the cheaply-manufactured curtains you may find at a big box store. We’ve rounded up just a few reasons why we love them so much and why we think you’ll love them, too.
1. Fabrics
Design Studio™ Drapery and Side Panels are crafted from luxurious, durable, high-quality fabrics. The carefully curated Design Studio™ fabric collection is also available on draperies, Roller Shades, and Roman Shades, as well as in matching pillows (22” square or 12”x16” oblong) and Fabric By the Yard to create your own matching accents. Not only are all Design Studio™ fabrics high-end and designer quality, but Hunter Douglas has also actually partnered with textile artists for their Featured Artist series. Get fabrics made exclusively for Hunter Douglas by Rebecca Atwood, Marcie Bronkar, and Seema Krish in beautiful designs and textures you can’t find anywhere else.
2. Style
Hunter Douglas Design Studio™ Drapery and Side Panels are available in a variety of styles, so you can customize your window treatments exactly how you wish. They come in 2.5x fullness for a sumptuous drape, 4” double bottom hems, double-turned side hems, and 4” pillow-case turned hems with tailored headers with handcrafted pleats, and more. All side panels and drapery are available in both two-finger pinch pleat and two-finger European pleat styles. Side panels are also available with grommet tops, and drapery is available in Ripplefold™ technology (Ripplefold™ Drapery has twice the standard fullness).
3. Light Control
Design Studio™ Drapery and Side Panels cover light gaps, which makes them great for layering with other window treatments. They also come fully lined with either a light-filtering or room-darkening liner (excluding sheer fabrics). That makes it easy to control the light levels in your room. Room-darkening liners are great for bedrooms and spaces where you might want to watch movies, while light-filtering liners soften the harshness of sunlight for a better lighting experience in your home.
4. Automation
One of the things that set Design Studio™ Drapery and Side Panels apart from other options is that they are compatible with the PowerView® Automation system by Hunter Douglas. With PowerView® enabled, you can open and close your side panels and drapery with the touch of a button, and you can even set schedules so they will adjust automatically! PowerView® can also integrate with popular smart home systems, including Apple HomeKit, Google Assistant, and Amazon Alexa, which means you can control your Design Studio™ Drapery and Side Panels with a simple voice command.
